Reedmace Bulrush - Typha latifolia

The Reed Mace (Typha latifolia) or familiar Bulrush is found at the sides of ponds and rivers. It grows to 8ft (2.5m).

A robust perennial with stout, far-creeping rhizome giving rise to extensive patches. Minute female flowers are massed in the brown spikes, which remain into the winter. The current height of the plants is approximately 10-20cm.
