The Yellow Flag Iris (Iris pseudacorus) is one of our most handsome and distinctive wild flowers, a feature of wet places and watersides. It has stiff broad leaves that have a raised midrib. Up to a dozen bright yellow flowers with purple veins - but only a few open at any one time. Flowers during May-July.
The Yellow Flag produces a fleshy rhizome forming large clumps with stems 50-150cms tall. For planting out in large quantities we recommend approximately 6 plants per square metre. The current height of the plants is approximately 10-20cm.
