The Dwarf Birch is a species which has a UK native range restricted to the uplands of Scotland.  It shares some characteristics with Downy and Silver Birch, such as needing good light and preferring poor soils.  

However the Dwarf Birch is very slow growing and rarely gains height above about 1m.  It can be considered to be a species under threat of extinction in many areas and so is often planted for conservation reasons.  

Makes a good choice of tree for a rock garden and a popular tree for bonsai.

The current height of these plants is approximately 10-20cm and they can be planted out all year round.

Arrived well packaged and planted straight away - they are thriving!

Trees, great! Packaging, not so great!

Everything arrived on time and as expected. Lovely little saplings. The only issue was that the packaging had soaked through from the damp soil and degraded so it arrived in quite a few pieces with the trees all dislodged from their pockets.

Nice little plants to bring on.

Nice easy to navigate website and ordering was easy. I forgot to add the 10% off voucher code but I was allowed to cancel first order and reorder, which was a lovely gesture. The plants arrived in a reasonable condition. They have since lost a few leaves after they turned yellow. However, new healthy growth is coming through already. Nice little plant, I hope I do them justice.
