Lawson Cypress Hedging - Chamaecyparis lawsoniana

The Lawson Cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana) tree is a very attractive evergreen, commonly planted to create a thick evergreen hedge. The Lawson Cypress is similar to, and an excellent alternative to Leylandii Cypressus but more controllable and much less vigourous. Native to Southern Oregon and Northern California.

Grows well in all areas and provides an attractive back drop to any garden.

The current height of these trees is approximately 30-50cm and they can be planted out all year round.

  • Plant in wet, dry, open and shady sites
  • Like most well drained soils
  • Garden tree or hedging plant
  • A more manageable alternative to Leylandii
