French Lavender - Lavandula stoechas

£11.95

Lavandula stoechas, also known as French lavender in the UK, is a species of lavender native to several Mediterranean countries, including France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

French Lavender is a pretty aromatic shrub with narrow, greyish leaves. The plant bears dense, oval heads of small purple flowers topped with a tuft of purple bracts. The plant can grow up to 60cm in height and spread. For best results, it should be grown in well-drained soil in full sun. It bears dense spikes of small tubular flowers in summer. Lavandula has nectar/pollen-rich flowers.

It’s one of the most popular small garden shrubs in the UK and the Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM). It’s also known by other common names such as butterfly lavender, or topped lavender.

Current height of these French Lavender plants is approx. 15-30cm and they can be planted all year round
