Foxglove - Digitalis purpurea

A biennial, The Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) is one of the prettiest and most popular wildflowers in the UK. It will grow up to 150cms and produce large purple red flowers during June-August.
The foxglove prefers open woodlands and scrub, ideally on lime-poor soils but will readily self seed in old walls, garden paths and on the edge of wooded areas and meadows.
