Juniper Trees - Juniperus communis

An evergreen tree, the Juniper (Juniperus communis) can reach a height of 6m, but generally remains a low maturing shrub with spreading branches. Berries are green in first year and ripen to dark purple in the second year.

Juniper is one of Britain's native conifers and occurs naturally in a variety of UK locations. Juniper berries are used for flavouring gin. Juniper is also a very popular bonsai tree.

The current height of the trees is approximately 20-40cm and they can be planted out all year round.
