Hedging Supplier UK: Buy and order hedging online for delivery in the UK. Welcome to our Hedging section where you will find a large range of UK native trees, plants and shrubs ideal for growing a hedge anywhere in the UK. Trees By Post specialise in young container grown tree seedlings of about 1-2 years old approximately 30-50cm high for broadleaf deciduous hedging and 10-20cm for holly, yew and box hedging. This is the perfect stage for planting a hedge allowing for the quickest growth rates.  Our hedging trees, shrubs and plants are container grown in Rootrainers so they can be planted at anytime of the year. Our hedging is delivered to you with their full root system already established and intact so will be unaffected by planting. For hedging orders we send by Citylink couriers on a next day basis with full order tracking.  All our hedging trees, shrubs and plants are guaranteed to be of the highest quality available anywhere in the UK.

We've been supplying thousands of metres of hedging since 2003 - a well planted hedge bought from us can establish in half that time - around 5 years! We have a great choice of hedging trees, shrubs and plants to choose from. The traditional country hedges are often beech, field maple or hornbeam around the garden and mixed hedging (hawthorn, blackthorn, crab, cherry, wild rose) or just hawthorn around fields and paddocks. In suburban and village settings settings box, yew, privet and cypress hedging offering more privacy are popular as well as shrub hedging including laurel and barberry.

For a "belt and braces" hedge we would recommend a staggered row hedge - this is the traditional stock hedge - the advantages are that the hedge will establish more quickly and even before it's established it will look good and have plenty of shape and structure. The alternative to a staggered row hedge, is a single line hedge which over 5 to 10 years will look as good but in the short term it could look a bit sparse.  The advantage of a single line hedge is that if space is short then it's thinner and you use less hedging plants so it is cheaper. For a single row hedge we'd recommend 4 plants per metre and for a double staggered row we'd recommend 6 plants per metre.
